BIA is a free, public charter school chartered by Baltimore City Public Schools and open to all Baltimore City residents. BIA East offers both Language immersion and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs in Grades K-8.

PBIS
“BIA has invested in PBIS to help manage student behavior with Positive intervention strategies. PBIS focuses on rewarding students for positive behavior instead of focusing on punishing students for inappropriate behavior.”
Policies
BIA East has a discipline policy that is compatible with the policies of the Baltimore City Public School System. This policy is in writing and is distributed to all families and students to sign and return, to affirm that they were informed of the policies. All disciplinary actions are compatible with IDEA and IEP requirements. The discipline policy is part of a complete parent handbook.
